Positive Reviews
positive:
Convenient location
This place is ideal for walking tours of the city. If you arrive by train, then it's a short walk to the hotel and after checking in you can take in all the sights without breaking a sweat. It's not too far from the riverside, and there are lots of places to eat nearby.
positive:
Helpful staff go out of their way
No matter what your request is the staff at this hotel do their best to accommodate. They provide great service in what is essentially a budget hotel and this surprises guests. From late breakfasts to local advice, they pull out all the stops.
positive:
Great Wi-Fi
Not all budget hotels offer internet access, so it's a great bonus to find that this place has an excellent free service. The signal is great no matter where you are in the hotel.
Negative Reviews
negative:
No air-conditioning
This isn't a problem during cold weather but during warmer months it can be quite stuffy in the rooms. You'll have to open a window, but you may have some smoke come into your room from the people that smoke outside the hotel.
negative:
Poor value for money
Even though this is Geneva, guests are still surprised that they must pay so much to stay in such an old place. The rooms are very dated, and the amenities are practically non-existent and to top it all off you share a bathroom. Far too expensive.
negative:
Not cleaned thoroughly enough
It's bad enough that the rooms aren't in great shape, but the fact that the shared bathroom is in a poor state annoys a lot of guests. They weren't happy to see that they hadn't really been cleaned at all and very a little smelly.
