Waikiki Monarch Hotel (Honolulu, USA)

Many guests enjoyed the good location in Honolulu including its proximity to various shops, restaurants and Waikiki. It is also near the beach and to parks within a walking or short driving distance.

The ocean views from the rooms were a definite plus to many whose first priority and ideal would be to have first-hand ocean views. Many described these views as amazing and beautiful.

Some guests thought they paid a good deal given the accommodations. They had good facilities and services and although some were extra, using the gym or a safe is not obligatory. Some still found the hotel to be a nice option in the area.

Some of the guests were surprised to find that some amenities were anything but free. The WiFi connection, the parking, in-room coffee and the gym all have extra charges. For many guests, this was the first time these charges existed.

The hotel was thought to be too old and run down by many guests who stayed here. For example, the paint job seemed to be layered on to cover up other paints, the carpet was filthy, bathroom sink, and toilet and shower are in need of replacement.

Some guests found the front desk staff to be in need of a customer service course. Sometimes, if guests needed to ask something or make known something, the front desk member seemed to be more interested in using her phone and inconvenienced by people trying to check-in.
