Resort El Cid La Ceiba Beach (Cozumel, Mexico)

Many guests thought the resort was an overall good value for the price paid given the cleanliness of the rooms and structure, the amount of activities and the great variety and taste of the food offered.

The ocean views of the resort were a direct attraction to guests who enjoyed being so close to the ocean and taking time to enjoy the surroundings. The ocean is described as beautiful and the water activities offered by the resort were a great addition to many guests.

Housekeeping staff is said to be friendly and interactive with guests. They are also thought to be doing a good job of daily cleaning and upkeep of the rooms which was greatly appreciated. Daily fresh towels did not lack as well as a change in linens.

Some guests had bad experiences with the staff's manner of handling their requests and questions. For example, reservations were never made, calls not forwarded, misinformation and differences that were not resolved in due time.

Some guests felt the rooms needed an update to be called a resort and that the overall look of the hotel needed a fresh start. Lighting is not great and poor and decorations remain the same for a smaller structure.

Some guests did not know why the wait staff at the restaurants and bars seemed unhappy to be there. Meals or drinks took a while to be served and the service was not courteous but seemed to be annoyed instead.
