Rooms have quite a lot of space and accompanying facilities are impressive. Beds and bed linen appear to be quite new and the kitchen is well equipped. The presence of a full-size fridge is a particularly welcome feature.

The name of the game here is no-nonsense, affordable accommodation. As stays increase in length, the tariff reduces and can be difficult to resist. This isn't the luxurious hotel you are looking for to enjoy that special, short break, holiday. They keep the cost down to you by not employing cleaners - you clean the room yourself. Neither do they supply breakfast - you can get your own and thereby control the cost. Marie Calendar's, just along the street, is a good way to start any day.

They give you a keycard on check in and certainly, there's no feeling that the place might be dangerous or insecure. Service is unobtrusive but effective when needed. If, for instance, the TV goes kaput, they're on to it like locusts. Most things get fixed within the hour.

It's worse than useless. On the topic of ‘stinks', there are quite a few diverse smells here. Nothing horrid, just the smell of meals being prepared.

There can be a problem with noise traffic from the Interstate. Light sleepers should try to get a room on the west side of the hotel.

Fleas and bugs thrive here among the dirty carpets and other hygiene issues. A lot of down and out people gravitate here and there is strong evidence of drugs and other questionable delights.
