I Massini is a Residenza made up by 3 Villas and 8 Apartments, all of which independent, surrounded by a beautiful and carefully tended park with small lake, which embraces the whole property with its green and its explosion of plants and flowers, a perfect setting for your holidays. Part of the Antica Fattoria di Paterno property (www.fattoriapaterno.it), a magnificent Seventeenth-century Villa renowned in the whole Florentine Chianti area and abroad as favourite place for wonderful weddings, i Massini retain the very same elegance and unmistakable style of the old dwelling. Only 5 minutes away from Antica Fattoria di Paterno, i Massini offers its beautiful natural frame, ideal place for relaxing holidays, aimed to enjoy the true Tuscan experience. Our property, surrounded by the big green park, offers a beautiful swimming pool, tennis court, table tennis and bicycles at complete disposal of our guests. Children and teenagers are free to run and have fun in our park, close to the small lake, while their parents can relax next to the pool and enjoy the Tuscan sun. Starting from this year, a marvellous Jardin d'Hiver, with sliding glass doors trimmed in white in chic Occitane style crowns i Massini and becomes the perfect setting for your parties, private dinners, events and small weddings. Our luxurious accommodations are named after the most typical plants and shrubs of the Mediterranean Scrub, the vegetation that best of all describes the naure of Tuscany: true to itself, deep-rooted and full of perfumes and scents of the earth, which take us back to the very origins and pleasures of life. The three Villas of our property are Maggiorana (Marjoram), Mirto (Myrtle) and Timo (Thyme) Villa Maggiorana, the biggest and most spacious of the villas, is exactly like the plant it is named after: engulfing, it welcomes you with its unique and fresh charm, making you feel in the middle of a marvellous mass of sounds, smells and perfumes typical of Tuscan tradition, still maintaining a timeless elegance which will not be easily forgettable. The exquisite furniture, the refined fabrics, every detail sought after for your wellness will make you appreciate this place, far from time and space, making you wish to come back soon. Two double bedrooms, kitchen, spacious living room with fireplace and double sofa-bed, bathroom and small service restroom are at your complete disposal for a holiday which will remain in your memory, untainted by the passing of time. Villa Mirto is determined and characteristic, like its very name. A romantic loft double bedroom make this accommodation magical. The fireplace in the cozy living room will be the perfect touch to your night, with a roaring fire and the person you love most at your side, with a glass of local Chianti in your hand...in the colours of ivory white and green, Villa Mirto will take your surprise you with its vitality and its intimate atmosphere. Villa Timo is the most intimate of I Massini, with its particular loft structure sustained by two small white columns, which contribute to make this place enchanting. Double loft bedroom with wooden staircase, living room and fireplace to enjoy Chianti's magical atmosphere. This Villa is also dominated by green and white, with these very colours helping to create an unforgettable memory of this small jewel encased amongst our green hills. Our Appartamenti (Apartments), located in the main building, have the very same charm and comforts, and every single one of them has its own name and characteristics: Leccio (Holm Oak), Ginepro (Juniper) (both 2+2 bed places) and Lentisco (Lentiscus), Lavanda (Lavender), Melissa (Lemon Balm), Corbezzolo (Arbutus), Giaggiolo (Iris) and Tamerice (Tamarisk) (all 4+2 bed places) Apartment Leccio is located on the first floor of the main building, after you have climbed an elegant set of stairs dotted with marble busts of noblewomen. Inside you find the colours of the tree the place is named after, with a darker shade in the wood of furniture and its position, which remind the fresh shade of the foliage of this particular oak tree and the peacefulness and privacy that they give. Overlooking a beautiful terrace, this one-bedroom apartment and wide living room with kitchen is the perfect choice for families who whish for intimacy but who prefer a place which is more spacious than the two smaller Villas. Apartment Ginepro, as the bush identifying it, is an accommodation with an evergreen, timeless elegance. Kitchen and living room in lighter colours make way to the lovely bedroom, whose slightly darker colours are mixed with white, making this apartment the perfect place for people looking for a true contact with nature. Apartment Lentisco overlooks our swimming pool and has a wonderful view of the park and the surrounding hills. Two bedrooms, a lovely kitchen and living room with double sofa-bed and two peaceful patios at complete disposal of our guests make this apartment a comfortable oasis where to enjoy the slowness of holiday time, with the rhythms of a new found tranquility. Apartment Lavanda is the biggest amongst the accommodations on the ground floor. A private patio, trimmed by plants of Jasmine, opens the doors of this dreamlike place. A spacious kitchen and living room with double sofa-bed, a master bedroom in the shades of the lavender plant, giving life to a fusion of darker furniture in remembrance of the bush and lighter colours which remind of its flowers. Briar-root chests of drawers stand side by side with design armchairs upholstered in fabrics with the shades of cream and latte, the bed is crowned with soft linen curtains which enhance the feeling of freshness you can feel in the whole accommodation. The twin bedroom is characterized by the slightly bitter colours of lime, with feather-light curtains make the stay in this room an lively and invigorating one. Apartment Melissa is the last one framing our ground floor,the closest to Villa Maggiorana. As the plant it is named after, this accommodation invites you to relax and peacefulness on the scent of Lemon Balm, known for centuries for being ideal to concentration and meditation. A spacious living room and kitchen, master double bedroom and twin bedroom, everything based on the shades of light blue and warm ocher. This apartment is also suitable for disabled guests, as it is located on ground floor and the bathroom is provided with the dedicated equipment. Apartment Corbezzolo, also located on the ground floor, is made up by a big kitchen and living room, where a modern Louis XV sofa, in the shades of cream, latte and without useless trumpery stands out in front of a marvellous Renaissance tapestry. In this way this accommodation gains a touch of lightness, with the ivory white to moderate an otherwise imposing elegance. The master bedroom reminds this Mediterranean shrub with its colours, with furniture in darker and precious woods with red pieces, just like the fruits of this very peculiar autumn plant. Al primo piano, abbiamo gli Appartamenti Giaggiolo e Tamerice. On the first floor, we find the Apartments Giaggiolo and Tamerice. Apartment Giaggiolo, just as the flower which gives the name to it, is touched by an almost ethereal delicacy. Entering this lovely apartment, you are soaked by the rays of sun entering from the windows, which illuminate the kitchen and the living room with its comfortable sofas. You make your way to the bedroom, a spacious yet intimate room, dominated by ivory and the floral design of the mirror, which reflects a lovely vanity, an old and romantic presence of a past which is possible to relive at I Massini. The bedroom overlooks a beautiful terrace trimmed with heather, which makes it one of the most breathtaking spots of the property. From here you can enjoy a typical Tuscan hilly view, maybe during a dinner with your loved ones around you. Apartment Tamerice might look, at first glance, just like the bushes carrying the same name: without any useless embellishments, almost spartan in its simplicity. On the other hand, this is one of the most peculiar accommodation of I Massini, where the last detail is taken into account, as we love to do for all of our apartments. In the shades of wood and of green in the bedrooms, it explodes with ivory in the kitchen and living room, just like the unexpected and poetic flowers of this mediterranean plant. A private terrace gives way to a beautiful view on our swimming pool and on the surrounding hills, from where you can relax while the nature around I Massini is soaked in the last rays of light. On the outside, there are many romantic and idyllic spots where you will be able to spend your time reading, wandering around, at the pool, or simply sitting under the shade of a tree and enjoying the luxury of dolce far niente, Italian for sweet idleness, a pleasure seemingly disappeared from our lives. From the private gazebos of the small villas to the niches created by bamboos close to our small lake, it is quite easy to sense the magic of I Massini in every green spot surrounding our houses, where we will be thrilled to welcome you with the hope to make you feel exactly like in a dream. Other art cities close to us are: Pisa, with Piazza dei Miracoli and the Leaning Tower, ; Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi, on the Tuscan coast, the heart of la bella vita on the coastline with its luxury shops along the promenade and its chic clubs with lounge music in the air, a telltale sign of an unmistakable and non conventional luxury. One of the strong points of I Massini is undoubtedly the proximity with art cities, such as Florence, which is only 30 minutes away. I Massini becomes a perfect place to relax after a frenetic day in the beautiful city, spent shopping in the precious Florentine boutiques or admiring the Fine Arts this city offers. Siena, with its unique shell-shaped square Piazza del Campo is only one hour drive away, where you can walk the medieval lanes of this beautiful city and taste the typical Tuscan cuisine in the many restaurants and trattorie. Lucca is also at one hour drive, with its centuries-old walls and The Guinigi Tower, the only one to have a garden on the top; Arezzo, the original set of the Italian film La Vita è Bella, city of old traditions which sits side by side with the lovely Cortona, set of Under the Tuscan Sun. Volterra, the medieval jewel hidden amongst hills is also at just one hour drive. Close to these beautiful places, also some smaller historical gems are worth noticing: Certaldo, an almost intact XII-th century medieval town which comes alive on July, for the Festival Mercantia, where street artists and fire eaters play side by side with street theater performers and where you can taste a fabulous red onion jam famous all around Tuscany. How to forget then the small village of Montespertoli, where the wine making tradition is part of the fabric of this place, and it is only 20 minutes away from I Massini. These are only some of the places which is possible to see leaving I Massini, but you can also fully enjoy the feelings of peace and calmness that you can sense by staying here, surrounded by the plants our accommodations are named after. The aromas of Thyme, Marjoram, Myrtle; the delicate ones of Lavender and Lemon Balm or the intense ones of Iris and Juniper, fresh as the shade of the Holm Oak, unexpectedly elegant as the Tamarisk, fresh as the Lentiscus, rustic on the surface like the Arbustus.
