About Nevill Arms Inn
Situated in the heart of the lovely Welland Valley, Nevill Arms Inn occupies an
exquisitely remodelled 17th century inn, and offers luxury
accommodation close to Medbourne’s amenities.
The five rooms have been furnished and decorated to a very high standard and include lovely antique pieces. Each features en-suite bathroom with luxury bath products and hairdryer, flat screen TV and tea/coffee station with homemade goodies included.
The Nevill Arms Inn has only five rooms, and has few public facilities. Staff are on hand to offer advice and provide local information.
Though its accommodation is fantastic, the Nevill Arms Inn is perhaps better known for its restaurant. It could perhaps be described as a gastro-pub, and serves real ales and traditional cuisine with a distinct modern twist.
The centre of Medbourne is just steps away, and there are several stately homes, open to visitors, within a short drive of the inn.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Truly excellent food all round
Guests really couldn't stop raving about the food. It didn't seem to matter what meal they were referring to, since they were all described as both tasty and well presented. It seems that the Nevill Arms may have got the balance between traditional and modern gastro-pub style food just right.
positive:
Charming historic property
A number of guests mentioned that they really liked the historical property. Of course the fact that it has been completely renovated and had all the modern conveniences may have swayed their decision, but they found it exceptionally charming.
positive:
Great room décor and design
Following on with the theme of renovations, the guests also appreciated the great care and attention that had clearly gone in to decorating and furnishing their room. It was impossible to find a guest who didn't like the end result of that process.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Reception can get a bit too busy
Curiously, this was mentioned a couple of times. It seems that reception is in the pub, and the staff there could take a lot of strain trying to balance their duties of barkeep and hotel receptionist.
negative:
Wi-Fi quite poor
This was perhaps the most common complaint. It seems that the Wi-Fi really isn't the best, and it cannot be relied upon. Guests mentioned both that it was often “down”, and that even when working, speeds were too slow for their purposes.
negative:
Light shining into the room
It seems that this might only affect one of the five rooms, but a number of guests in a room facing the courtyard reported that, due to the way it is situated, the courtyard light shone directly into their room. They naturally found this annoying when trying to sleep.
