Positive Reviews
positive:
Excellent location all round
It was, without a doubt, the hotel’s location that most impressed guests during their stay. They described it as being very close to an interstate exit, which meant it was easy to find when arriving and convenient when headed off again. But it seems that it was the proximity to Auburn University that guests liked most.
positive:
Very cheap rates
While guests did not address the matter of value for money, several said that the rates at this hotel were significantly lower than they found at any other area hotel.
positive:
Suites were a good size
While those in the standard rooms didn’t really comment on the size of their room, those in the suites mentioned that they were very happy with the size. They had more than enough room to stretch out and enjoy the space.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Pervasive smell of smoke throughout
Guests mentioned that there was strong smell of both tobacco and marijuana smoke throughout the hotel. It did not seem to help if they were in a non-smoking room, since the smoking rooms seemed to be scattered among the rest, making the hallways smell of smoke everywhere.
negative:
In desperate need of a comprehensive refurbishment
This was by far the most common, and most serious, complaint. Guests reckoned it had been many, many years since the hotel had seen any sort of renovation, and perhaps years as well since it had undergone proper maintenance. The general feeling was that the hotel was in very poor state and urgently needed to be fixed up.
negative:
Terrible breakfast
It was pretty much impossible to find a kind word written about the breakfast. While guests were very unhappy with the extremely limited range of food available, some also commented that what was available was stale, poorly prepared and not presented well.
