Positive Reviews
positive:
Walk to beach and St Armands Circle.
Lido Islander is said to be set in a lovely neighborhood, putting you very close to relaxation on the golden sand of Lido Beach, as well as within walking distance of the Lido Pool and also lovely bars, restaurants and window shopping opportunities at St Armands Circle. The hotel is also not very far away from Sarasota, so easily accessible for those with a car.
positive:
Easy check-in, friendly staff.
The staff has made things very easy for guests through a simple self check-in procedure on arrival, and despite the lack of initial contact, guests found the team to be friendly when they dealt with them — staff can be reached by phone if there is something you need. Furthermore there is a self-supply area, so you can easily fetch anything you may run out of.
positive:
Cute, clean and good value.
While they are in no way luxurious, the suites are said to be clean, well-maintained, and equipped with both a kitchen and plenty of living space. Guests described the accommodation as being homely, decorated in a cute beach style, and said it was good value for what they paid.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Some say outdated with set A/C.
Like some previous guests who wrote negative reviews, those who want modern amenities might find the rooms and suites here to be a little outdated, with older furnishings and decor throughout. However, despite their age, it appears the facilities are kept well maintained, even if a handful of people were not happy that the air conditioning could be controlled meaning they found it to be a bit too hot.
negative:
A few reported thin walls.
A few of those who stayed at Lido Islander reported that their rooms had rather thin walls, which meant they could hear exactly what their neighbors were up to. So, if you are a light sleeper and staying in the hotel rooms, perhaps remember to bring some earplugs with you.
negative:
Lack of toiletries or cleaning service.
No cleaning service or toiletries provided, so if you are someone for whom daily housekeeping is a must, or you do not plan on bringing your own toiletry supplies with you, this may not be the place for you.
