About La Vie en Rose
Situated in the very heart of Amsterdam, between Centraal Station and Dam Square, La Vie en Rose BnB Apartments offers modern and stylish self catering accommodation.
Two apartments are available. Both are extraordinarily spacious, and feature an open plan design and gorgeous bamboo flooring. They are furnished and decorated to a high standard and contain all you’ll need for a great independent stay in the city, including a fully equipped kitchen.
The hosts are always available should you have any questions or concerns during your stay.
While a simple breakfast can be provided in-room, guests are also able to prepare their own in the equipped kitchen. The building houses a typical Amsterdam “Brown Café” on the ground floor where all three meals can be enjoyed.
La Vie en Rose is in the heart of Amsterdam’s central canal ring, and so most of the city’s attractions, including everything from the Anne Frank House to the Red Light District are well within walking distance.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Apartments are beautiful and spacious
Guests were generally very impressed with the apartments. They two most commonly mentioned positive attributes were that they were well designed and decorated, and so were very easy on the eye; and that they were especially spacious.
positive:
Unbeatable central location
Of course guests were happy with the location of the apartments. They are in the very heart of Amsterdam's famous “Grachtengordel”, or canal ring, containing most of the city's best attractions and street life. Going on the reviews, it's safe to say that the location was one of the main reasons for booking here.
positive:
Professional and helpful hosts
Guests were very impressed with the hosts, Christa and Yvon. It is unclear from the reviews whether they live on the premises, but the vast majority of guests did say that they had no issues with checking-in, which was said to have run smoothly, or obtaining information and advice from them.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Stairs a bit steep
While guests conceded that this was pretty much the norm for central Amsterdam canal houses, it didn't change the fact that the steps were extraordinarily steep and there was no lift. Neither of the apartments is on the ground floor, so there was no avoiding them. Those with mobility issues are unlikely to be happy here.
negative:
Some issues with the showers
A surprising number of guests had issues with the temperature of their shower. Some said that the water was simply not hot enough, while for others it was a case of the water being cold now and scalding then next moment.
negative:
Could be a little loud
Guests reported that one of Amsterdam's famous “Coffee Shop's” was located right next door and that patrons going in and out sometimes cause a bit of a disturbance.
