Positive Reviews
positive:
Historic charm and character..
The Indigo Baltimore is a historic building, dating back to 1882, and the designers managed to keep much of its original architectural charm while bringing in a very modern and "fun" design to the interior. Because of the building's age, few rooms are exactly identical and some are on the smaller side, yet guests generally describe them as comfortable, charming, and luxurious, with very cozy beds and high quality linens.
positive:
A good, walkable neighborhood..
Guests enjoy the hotel's location in the historic Mount Vernon neighborhood, noting that the hotel is within walking distance of the Waters Art Museum, Washington Monument, Edgar Allen Poe House, and the Enoch Pratt Free Library. The popular Inner Harbor district is within a one-mile walk as well.
positive:
Friendly faces and good food..
The front desk staff have received many rave reviews for their friendly and professional customer service. Guests visiting for the first time are happy to rely on their local knowledge and recommendations. Compliments also go to the chef at the on site restaurant, Poets - Modern Cocktails and Kitchen, on the creative "farm to table" dishes, many of which are named for local landmarks.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Parking across the street..
Parking is in a public garage across the street, and several guests were dismayed to find that there are no in/out privileges. Guests who plan to come and go may be better off parking on the street.
negative:
Taking the stairs..
Several guests have noted that it is necessary to climb a few stairs to the hotel entrance, an inconvenience for guests with heavy luggage.
negative:
To err is human..
Though the staff generally receives very positive reviews, a few guests have reported unwanted wake-up calls from an eager housekeeping team, or else a long wait in the restaurant on a busy night.
