The Beachcomber International Resort is located in downtown Coolangatta on the sunny Gold Coast, a short walk from the beach. One and Two bedroom apartments feature modern amenities including air-conditioning, a full kitchen, TV, laundry facilities and full bathrooms with hair dryers. Some apartments have spectacular views from the balconies. Relax and unwind in a choice of heated indoor or outdoor pools or take a spa to nudge the relaxation up to the next level. For the more active there is full sized tennis court and gym on-site. If guests do not wish to self cater there are a plethora of local restaurants and clubs serving food nearby and along the beach front to try. A supermarket for self catering supplies is a five minute walk away. The Beachcomber International Resort is only five minute drive from the Coolangatta airport and local attractions such as the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and Snapper Rocks.
The hotel is really well positioned in the downtown Coolangatta close to the shops and restaurants in the area and a short walk to the beach. Guests were happy they could leave the car and walk easily to these local attractions.
A number of guests who like to self cater their holidays were really impressed with the kitchen facilities in the the units - which are fully equipped with all of the conveniences of a home kitchen. Guests appreciated the full sized fridge and washing machine.
The staff at the hotel rated positively amongst reviewers who recounted their experience in their reviews. It seems that the staff at the hotel are extremely friendly, well training and will provide help for requests for additional amenity prompty and swiftly.
Those guests who booked the hotel expecting beach and sea views were very disappointed when they were accommodated on low floors which only have views of the building in front which obstucts any views of the beach. Previous guests left tips to stay above the 5th floor.
The hotel is fully self-catered and this extends to requiring guests to bring their own toiletries by way of soap and shampoo and conditioner. This inconvenienced guests who did not know this before checking in and who had to do a quick shop on their holiday.
A recurring less than positive remark across reviews was that the at the beds were only average and guests had an ok sleep. Guests also commented that some of the rooms are looking a bit tired and dated and could use a spruce up.
