Rooms, in the main, are clean, tidy + well maintained.They are generally quite spacious, with HDTV and the whole package represents good value. It’s in a good location and very quiet. Members of staff are very pleasant and helpful. It’s good value and the town is OK with lots of useful attractions. The general area is quite attractive, but not excessively so.
Step outside and within yards of the doorstep is an impressive array of shops, bars, restaurants and other attractions. *Miss out on Golden Corrall at your peril!
Breakfast is really good with plenty of choice – and lots of it. Gets a bit samey though. They really should ring the changes on the menu.
Rooms near the front desk are particularly and constantly very hot. Corridors have a strong smell of disinfectant – a better alternative to that other and more usual hotel smell – but overpowering and unpleasant.
Pillows are really tiny and are of an uncomfortable ‘square’ shape. Seems like they don’t want you to sleep.
Ceiling stains and very dirty carpets do little to encourage confidence and overall satisfaction. Some rooms have an unpleasant smell throughout ... and it seems to be well established, rather than ‘one –off’. Members of staff are nice but it’s a bit disconcerting when they can’t recommend anything or call you a cab. Maybe they just need a brief course on the facilities that are available to strangers – in their town?
