Positive Reviews
positive:
Prime location, you can get to anywhere
The hotel is situated somewhere between the Arno river and the main railway station. Santa Maria Novella is reachable by foot, just like Ponte Vecchio, the main tourist area. Buses that stop close by are also much appreciated by guests who want to explore the most popular sights of Florence.
positive:
Decent and agreeable breakfast options
Breakfast here offers a specific selection of croissants, butter, bread, sweet spreads, fruits, cereals, juice, and coffee. Guests find it to be quite plentiful. The small corner dedicated to gluten-free products such as rolls and cookies is also appreciated.
positive:
Helpful staff you can rely on
Most guests have described the staff as helpful, reliable, and friendly. Hence, it should not be a problem if you want to ask for directions about what to see around, or where can you enjoy your breakfast. Getting new towels, extra shower gel, or an extra chair to use on the balcony wouldn't be a pain, too.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A pressing feeling of old
The furniture is old and, even though the mattresses are comfortable, guests have complained that it would really use some updating. For this reason, the bathrooms (despite being clean) give that same feeling of a rusty old place. Nevertheless, if you are not planning to pamper yourself in the room all day long (or if you are not very picky on your furniture options), you won't be bothered.
negative:
Public Wi-Fi reachable in the lobby only
The hotel advertises about its public free Wi-Fi, but guests have experienced a steady signal only in the hallways. Even so, there's still a decent signal in the rooms, which most likely is attributed to the proximity of the wireless routers and antennas from the hallways.
negative:
A bit noisy, depending on your room's location
While the hotel's location is appreciated for being close enough to the main tourist area (without putting you right in the middle of bustle), the place can still be noisy at times. Yes, you might hear things - from traffic to partying tourists from a bar across the street.
