Positive Reviews
positive:
Stunning location close to the Brecon Beacons.
Penybryn Cottages is situated just a half an hour drive from the centre of the Brecon Beacons National Park. You can quickly immerse yourself in the beauty of this protected natural wilderness, and getting back won't take too long either!
positive:
Clean and tidy cottages in the countryside.
Stay in a well-kept cottage on the outskirts of Aberdare, a small Welsh town that offers a range of amenities. You'll feel like you're surrounded by countryside and some of the cottages have great views over the rolling fields.
positive:
Lovely hosts do their best to please.
The couple who run the cottages do a stellar job, welcoming you in when you arrive and making sure you feel at home. If you need anything or just fancy a chat they are always ready to oblige!
Negative Reviews
negative:
Mattresses could do with being replaced.
The mattresses here have seen better days and are losing their firmness. The owners should invest in some new ones so that you don't have any complaints about getting a good night's rest. You might find that getting a good night's sleep difficult if you like a lot of support from the mattress you sleep on.
negative:
Free Wi-Fi doesn't reach all the rooms.
If you're lucky you'll get a cottage that has a good Wi-Fi connection, but then again maybe you won't. Check the signal strength when you arrive and if it is poor request a different cottage with a better signal.
negative:
The narrow lanes leading here can be a pain.
You'll have to navigate a series of narrow lanes to reach Penybryn Cottages, which can be a little tricky if you're used to large wide roads. There is only enough space for a single line of traffic so some reversing might be necessary!
