AN ECO-FRIENDLY GUEST HOUSE. LAND OF A THOUSAND WINES, LA RIOJA Villa Liquidámbar is a typical 19th century farmhouse located in the Sierra de los Cameros mountains of La Rioja, Spain. It is divided into Villa Liquidámbar I and Villa Liquidámbar II; both independent lodgings. The Villa´s ecological rehabilitation has respected and maintained the original facade and interior, while also embracing the traditions and charm of the typical architecture of the region. The local masonry, detailed stone and wood work, decorative doors, windows and interior beams have been preserved. The heating system consists of an environmentally friendly biomass boiler. Villa Liquidámbar can be rented out as a single unit, or as independent rooms. Villa Liquidámbar is located in Torrecilla en Cameros, the seat of the Sierra de los Cameros Nuevos mountains, just 20 km from the Rioja capital of Logroño. The Iregua River crosses through this town of 250 year round residents; a number which increases to over 1000 during the summer months. Torrecilla has restaurants, bars, banks, teller machines, grocery stores, butcher shops, clinics, a pharmacy, town pools and a “pelota” court (basque sport).
