Both rooms have an old-fashioned type roll top bath and shower, flatscreen TV and tea and coffee making facilities. There is free Wi-Fi available and free covered parking. A continental or English breakfast is included in the main farm house, using fresh local ingredients. There are many local village pubs nearby that provide food. 41 miles from Oxford, The Cowshed is not far from the M1 and M40 and the Stowe National Trust Gardens. The Bichester outlet village is just a 25 minute drive away.
Guests love the stylish and spacious accommodation: the fabulous farm house and converted barns, which are far enough away from the owner's house to be private. The old-fashioned styled bath seems to be highly inviting, whilst guests just adored the quirky and boutique feel of the rooms. The king-size beds go down a treat with guests, who find them really comfortable. The rooms are nice and spacious and, of course quiet.
Right from the offset, guests find the host extremely agreeable. Friendly and welcoming she helps make their stay special and gives lots of tops on where to visit and eat out. Guests are also thrilled when she offers to make a packed breakfast or lunch if they have an early start.
Breakfast in the farmhouse, and cooked to order by the host is loved by most guests. Sourced from local ingredients, they found it tasty and generous and not too greasy!
A few guests found finding The Cowshed wasn't very straightforward or well indicated. This was a minor issue and could possibly be worrying for single, female guests but didn't detract from their stay.
The bedrooms can be cold on arrival and it needs a short while to warm up. This can cool the warm welcome on arrival and some guests feel the heating could be switched on in advance.
