Positive Reviews
positive:
Friendly and chatty hosts
It seems that it wasn't anything about the B&B itself, or even its location or outlook, that most impressed guests, but rather the incredibly welcoming and friendly owners. They were described as very chatty, and so guests could learn a great deal of useful information on the surrounding area.
positive:
Enormous and delicious breakfast
An extraordinary number of guests indicated that the breakfast offered by Elmfield was the highlight of their day. While it was said to be tasty and varied, it was clearly the quantity that most impressed guests. They felt that they hardly needed to bother with lunch.
positive:
Excellent value for money
Whatever tiny problems guests could think of related to the B&B, these all seemed to be swept away by the fact that they felt the room-rates were very good. They reckoned they received excellent value for money.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Most rooms with shared bathroom
Of the four rooms, only one has a private bathroom. The rest must share a bathroom. Most guests knew this ahead of time, but still felt that this sort of set up was a bit unusual nowadays, and would have preferred having an en-suite.
negative:
No mobile phone reception
Although not mentioned often, it seems that the hotel may be in a mobile phone coverage dead spot. Those who need to keep in touch via mobile should check coverage ahead of time.
negative:
No in-room tea or coffee making facilities
A couple of guests pointed out that, for reasons unknown, there were no tea or coffee making facilities in their rooms. They found this to be a strange omission and would have liked the ability to make themselves a quick cuppa in their room with a minimum of fuss.
