Positive Reviews
positive:
Great for getting around
If you're looking for at least one night in Bangkok, the world is literally your oyster when staying at the Asia Hotel. With a Skytrain station accessible from its second floor, connecting to the city's main sites and airport, guests can easily get around the city and beyond. This facility is by far the most compelling reason why people choose to stay here - and may be the hotel's saving grace.
positive:
Super friendly staff
Guests find the staff to be delightfully friendly. Not only do they do all they can to help, but do it with a smile and very efficiently too.
positive:
Eating options
You are spoilt for choice for restaurants to eat within the hotel and nearby. Guests say there are also a large variety of street-food vendors outside.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Hotel has fallen from grace
Guests are almost sad to report that this once great establishment is a shadow of its former self. It is looking very tired and the rooms are dated, mouldy and have a musty smell. Dirty old carpets adorn the lobby and hallways. Guests can scarcely believe it is still rated a four-star hotel.
negative:
What no Wi-Fi?
A prime example of the hotel being behind the times is its poor Wi-Fi network. Guests are shocked that they cannot connect to the internet from their rooms in this day and age! Even though you can only connect to it near the reception, you still have to pay to use it! Even then you can only connect one device.
negative:
Poor catering for western markets
Guests feel the hotel could do more to satisfy non-Asian guests. The staff seem to barely speak any English, or have a poor command of the language. The breakfasts also tend to be targeting Asian clients, with few western-type options.
