Positive Reviews
positive:
Great location when using Gare de Lyon
It seems a large number of guests essentially use De Reims for a quick overnight stop when travelling to or from the south of France via the Gare de Lyon. They found that this hotel fit their purpose quite well since it was only a short walk away and offered no more luxury than was required for a short overnight stay.
positive:
Kind and accommodating staff
It was hard to find a bad word spoken about the staff. On the contrary, most guests went out of their way to report how far the staff sometimes went out of theirs to make sure that their guest had everything they needed.
positive:
Cheap tea and coffee at reception
While some guests were not happy that there were no tea and coffee making facilities in their rooms, many were satisfied that it was available at reception 24 hours a day for a nominal price.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Very basic rooms
Rooms were described as a bit too basic for many guests taste - both in terms of the décor, which they found a bit uninteresting, and the furniture and amenities, which were thin on the ground.
negative:
Room a bit small
Aside for the furniture and decor being a bit basic, guests also considered their rooms too small. Those who were just staying overnight seemed happy enough to ignore the rooms size, but those staying longer felt it was really too cramped for their liking.
negative:
Ground floor rooms with no natural light
Guests mentioned that the rooms on the ground floor do have windows, but they are painted and sealed off so as to ensure privacy and security. Guests did not seem too happy with this design feature.
